(WATCH) Remote Learning: Is This Just For Pandemic? Or ... Is It The Future?
CSG East, along with K12, presents a very useful conversation on how educators, communities and policymakers are adapting to the "remote learning" environment

About
Public and private schools in all 50 states are activating unprecedented 'remote learning,' hybrid and blended learning models as educators must adapt to the pandemic. That's also happening as COVID-19 forces a reckoning within the K-12 education space, exposing blistering racial disparities and equity gaps that have been there from the start. Can remote learning address those gaps and close them? In "Remote Learning: Is it Just for Pandemic or Is it the Future?" we convene a panel of policymakers, advocates and educators to lead a solutions-based discussion on what communities can do to adapt to the new pandemic-forced virtual learning environment and how to harness innovation, opportunity and equity from that moment. How should schools and districts implement remote learning in meaningful, effective ways? What aspects of the remote learning, hybrid and blended learning conversation are we missing? Is virtual learning the key to breaking the dreaded "school-to-prison" pipeline? What challenges and opportunities do these new learning models present for historically vulnerable and disenfranchised Black and Brown communities that have been traditionally mistreated and under-educated by conventional school systems? And, how do communities use this to proactively prioritize K-12 education as a top policy issue versus one that is reacted to in crisis?
