Why do media outlets refuse to cover and add urgency to climate issues? Why isn't this the "front page" every day? Generally speaking, news organizations epically fail at drawing attention to climate/environmental equity issues. Missing from Hurricanes Helene and Milton coverage, for example, is the Black and marginalized perspective even though we know those populations got hit the hardest.
And, even more sensitive: why does Black media generally fail to cover or discuss climate and other environmental issues, even though Black communities are disproportionately suffering from those issues?
